Uh oh. Watch out NBA, it looks like we might have a new baby GOAT on our hands. The nation’s favorite new white boy has taken the league by storm over the last few weeks. He dropped 35 a few days ago, and last night went for 25 points and 11 assists as he embarassed Devin Booker and the Suns on national television. He keeps this up, he just might find himself in the MVP conversation soon.
I had absolutley no hope for the Lakers to win that game last night. It was very close to a must-win, so I penciled in about 13 points for Anthony Davis. For a while, it looked like he was going to be his usual sluggish self. Then, as soon as he saw White Lightning striking down the Suns with deceptive quickness and perfect fudnamentals, he started to get a little pep in his step. When you have an idol as inspring as Reaves, it’s hard to not be inspired. You could see in real time the team rallying around him as the game went on. He’s just the type of guy that makes everyone around him better, a 10x-er, someone that his teammates would be willing to die for. I’d definitely give my life for him right now. I can’t think of anyone in my life I love more than him right now.
Reaves has singlehandedly managed to hold the entire weight of the Laker’s franchise on his underdeveloped shoulders. What he lacks in mass and definition, he makes up for with heart and determination. That’s a winning combo that I’ll take every day of the week. I’d rather be short and scrawny with a heart of gold than 7 feet with one unibrow and a desire burning with a heat equivilant to a cheap birthday candle. That comment wasn’t aimed at anyone in particular.
I don’t want to do it, but my hopes of a 5th ring for LeBron have started tingling ever so slightly. If these idiots can just make it into the playoffs, I’d like to see how far the duo of LeBron and Reaves can go in the playoffs. Those superstars have a nice supporting cast with DLo, Jared Vanderbilt, ADisney, and others. How many other teams are boasting a top 2 guys that talented? I’ll tell you how many: 0. Certainly not the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Austin Reaves has Michael Jordan shaking in his boots. MJ has done everything he can to stop Lebron, but he might have met his match with this one. I bet Austin would have been the best competition Michael Jordan ever faced had he played back then.
Fear us.
