LA Rams Season Preview

I used to have a soft spot for the St. Louis Rams. Then they took a cool franchise and moved them out to dirty ass Los Angeles for a quick buck. Gross. The fans of St. Louis deserve so much better than that. I’ll never forget when the Rams made the super bowl in 2018 and there was a bar PACKED with about 5 fans in LA and all they gave was a “woohoo” after the team’s biggest win in 20 years. Are you fucking kidding me?? We would’ve had St. Louis residents scaling the Arch for weeks in celebration. Like I said with the Chargers, I’ll never understand why teams continue to move to the most over-saturated sports market in the entire world but somehow they still do. Football is simply a second-class sport in Los Angeles. Maybe one day the owners will realize the NFL just needs to get the fuck out of that city and embrace the regions of this country that actually love football.

The Rams offense can be broken down by even the lowest of IQs- It’s Cooper Kupp and Matthew Stafford. The bad news: Stafford coming back from injury and Kupp dealing with hamstring issues. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that they’re gonna struggle, especially early. It came out last week that Kupp had a “setback” on his hamgstring which doesn’t bode well for him in my eyes. I love being a Twitter doctor, and from my research I have concluded that these soft tissue injuries can be a real nagging bitch. I’m so concerned that I wouldn’t have even touched him in our annual Armchair Experts Fantasy Football draft. His quarterback, Frat Stafford, missed most of last season with an elbow injury. Now, I’m about to say it, I don’t care that he broke his elbow. The guy better return to form if the Rams have any hope of returning to super bowl form this year. I’m almost 100% confident that ain’t gonna happen due to the lack of ANYTHING else on offense. Cam Akers has never been good in the NFL and I’m definitely not gonna be a believer post-achilles tear. The offensive line is also pathetic, so there really is just nothing to love about this offense. I think I’ve started liking them even less the more I’m writing. Let me stop before my stomach starts churning and I have a protein spill.

The Rams defense should be equally as bad in 2023. The only player I can even think of is Aaron Donald. While he is arguably the best defender ever, even he can’t turn these cats into a formidable unit on his own. They traded Ramsey for a 3rd round pick because their draft assets are so depleted. It was worth it because they won the Super Bowl but man it’s gonna be rough for a couple years. The Rams defense could definitely be a hot dog down a hallway this year.

It goes without saying that I’m not a believer in the LA Rams this year. I’m subtracting 2 wins from them until further notice simply due to the fact that they’re in LA. They play in that plastic ass stadium in front of 15 fans every Sunday and there’s just no way I can support that. Move back to St. Louis or ROT Rams. I will never be a fan.

2023 Record: 4-13
